Well the build went well for my first major not bolt.on build...

Some parts were questionable but I had read on the internets would hold up.

The steering I made and put on is marginal at best, sure its 1 ton and 1.5” dom with .25” wall...but its low(my piss poor design) and weak(1ton aint shit).

I temporarily fixed one part of the steering on the trail with robert and chris' help. one tie rod end on dragling snapped when it hit a rock. The second tierod end was bent.to piss and replaced at the house.

Plan is to either buy highsteer knuckles or make highsteer knuckles out of stock ones(heard sucess and fail on homemade knuckles).
Also need to rotate steering box to get draglink out of rocks.

Small carnage pic of ”1ton” stuff

Another failure was the recently built tire carrier, the same carrier had held a 35” tire on steel rim for.over a year just fine.

I made the assumption that it could also hold a 37” tire with a bit of extra bracing. I was wrong lol. The 37” also has a deeper backspacing on the rim which moved the weight balance...

Here is the result(redesign coming soon)

I love through the hood. Also more practical allowing longer shocks while keeping low center of gravity.

Whitesnake 3/4 ton build

Hook up egr. It'll cool combustion temps which will lower nox. Also clean out the egr passages. Just pull the egr valve if they are carboned up light your torch and heat up the carbon till it glows then turn off the acetylene and gradually roll on the oxygen you'll hear it burn out the whole passage. Lots faster than the coat hanger scrape. Takes about 3 minutes.

Too much of a pussy..... so far.

I might have to push cutting the back off for a little bit.... need to see where the cash lies after I fix the front end.
