newbie run?????

Postby casaintsfan » November 20th, 2009, 1:51 pm

we know that there are some lurkers on this forum :moon: every time we post a run or the meet & greet location about 6 to 8 people post and a lot more people show up. :drinks: :drinks: :drinks: :drinks: :drinks: :drinks: :drinks: :drinks:

anyways, how about the ones that don't show up? :thefinger:
maybe there are some people that don't show up or post because they are a little shy or don't want to be embarrased because they are not really sure what to do off road in their vehicles. :suprise: we all started somewhere. Bert338 suggested a newbie run. something easy so people can find out what their 4x4 is capable or not capable of doing. i think its a great idea, it would give me a chance to get my wife behind the wheel of the jeep and teach her some of the basics of off roading.

let us know what you guys think and maybe we can set something up.

and you lurkers, come out come out who ever you are!!!! :moon:

We know your out there.....post up! You have an off road vehicle, so use it. No one will push you to over extend your comfort level. But everyone needs to start some place. :Thumb:

bert338 is right, that would be a great spot!

Now we just gotta get some newbies.
If we don't get some newbies to post up we could always make it The Ole Ball & Chain Run. :dig:

I was asked about this run yesterday to see if anyone was still interested.

In the Jan 2010 issue of JP magazine on pg. 19 there is the column "Things to Do With Your Jeep". It shows some training events at Hungry Valley SVRA. Here is what is going on:

Jan 9: Tread Lightly Tread Trainer Clinic hosted by Badlands Off-Road Adventures
Jan 10: 4WD Spotting Skills Clinic Hosted by Badlands Off-Road Adventures

Jan 23-24: Beginning Off-Road 4x4 Skills Clinic hosted by Badlands Off-Road Adventures
Jan 25-36: Getting Started Off-Road 4x4 Skills Clinic hosted by Badlands Off-Road Adventures

There is a web site to go with these, it is http://www.4x4training.com

There are more, i just wanted to throw those up

I am new to this forum. I have been wheelin for years. I would do a newbie run just to get to know some people on here. My jeep is a LITTLE better then stock, 2-1/2" lift, 31's. Have big plans for it, just waiting for the funding.

The Hungry Valley Run would be quite fun as for the clinic that you talked about previously in this thread. It is limited to 10 vehicles and from the email response I got from them it sounds to be just about full. They wouldn't give me an exact number of spots left open but if you are planning on signing up for that event I'd say do it ummmm YESTERDAY.
