KOH PLANS

Postby Beck*A*Poo » January 19th, 2013, 8:11 am
Looks like nobody is really coming out till Friday for the main race? You guys do know that the main race sucks to watch compared to the LCQ and EMC? There are only a couple of spots they let spectators watch from and 30,000 people crown into those. They are limiting viewing opportunities even more this year, and expecting a bigger turn-out. Most people are going to be stuck watching the main event on the jumbotron in Hammertown or in camp on TV. You really can't wheel on race day either, because the routes to most trails cross the race course.
some peeps can't get time off so we're stuck for Friday/ Thursday

Today I started tearing apart the jeep. I removed my rock sliders and transfeir case skid. For KOH I'm going to leave the rear bumper the way it is, but it will soon change also. I probably won't have a front bumper for KOH. The whole idea is to fix the unibody up front to rear. The cracks aren't as bad as I suspected, but I ran across some rocks that caved the frame rails in pretty good. I hope to be done by the end of the week while it's still warm.

Got a call from RCV yesterday. They were looking at the joint and would have it back in the mail before the end of the day.... so I am guessing I'll see the joint before the weekend.

HAHHA, I love that vid. Its been all over Facebook the last couple days.

Are any Infectious peeps going to be out there for the LCQ or to wheel before the race? Or am I going to be forced to share body warmth with a Trailblazer?

I'm gonna be out there Monday through Saturday, but the jeep won't get any trail time because I won't have rocker protection by then. Need to order some of the ruff stuff specialties frame supports within the next few days. I broke my desktop computer though.

Hey Jeremy... I just e-mailed Joey and let him know I was going to be out there and setup a spot for us right after the bridge.... nine for Wednesday, but do you know how many more for the week? I'll see what I can do to block off an area for us as I think I'll be out on the lake bed a few hours before the guys from Bako get there. Is it mostly motor homes or tents or ???

IOR bitches.... how many of you are going? Any rough count that anyone can imagine? In the thread I can see possibly 22 rigs? Is this the total total? How about you boys.... tents, motor homes, rape shacks?

And who knows where I can pick up some of that police line tape to block off our shit??

If you are going to the King of the Hammers, be prepared for Rain! There is a chance (although slight) for rain that week... It is still 10+ days out in the Forecast, but be prepared!

Go just past the bridge and start looking on your left for Brad's Rig and Blinking Red light. Cell phones should work... My cell is 661-805-1472. In the dark it is VERY difficult to find a group among the thousands of RV's.

Matt... I will not be there for the races. SO my truck/trailer ain't going to help you unless you want to come down to Oxnard.

Nice on the heater!!!

Rain.... it's not so bad, temps are going to be warm out there.

Be sure to come by our garage space in Hammertown. We have a new address, we moved to 116 GenRight Ave. Closer to the main area of Hammertown and away from the mud. We have a 20x40 tent on our space. If we finish well, I'm sure there will be partying in the tent on Thurs night.

BTW, thanks again to Infectious Off Road and DD for the bad ass blue and yellow seats in the 4643 XJ.
