Artec Industries.....

Postby Lake_v2 » April 12th, 2013, 9:51 pm

About finished up with rear of jeep and gotta say that going with artec for the rear was my best decision

In comparison on the front i used a mix of ballistic, ruffstuff, and homemade brackets mounts and joints.

The cost was maybe 100 dollars more buying the full kit, but the quality and timesaving was a huge difference.

Big thumbs up to artec for their product and service

I like their 44 front truss, went in pretty easy on mine and Kody's Jeep.

Yep... I like their shit too.

Luckily, I haven't had any issues using brackets and items from different vendors yet. Sure, we have had to fab up some custom pieces and of course, all the brackets I bought had to be clearanced for the BIG tubes on that Super 60, but finding most things go together well.

Did you sleeve and gusset also? Or just did the truss?

I have a d44 front that has all the beef you could ask for. It's very special to me, but will let you have it for the right price. :Thumb:

All you would have to do after putting a truss on would be to gusset the C's. Sleeving is the cheap way to keep your tubes from bending, but it compounds the forces where there isn't material which is right where the tubes go into the 3rd member. I think a truss is far superior to sleeves because it keeps both tubes ridged in the 3rd member. I've seen sleeved axle tubes get pulled right out of the 3rd member.

Are you talking about a 9in or a d44 cause I've never seen a third member on a d44.

Ahh I sleeved and gusseted. Mine already and have the jks track bar upgraded bracket which is basically a truss on the one side. I'm new to the whole scene so only could go off the recommendations of others, hopefully it will treat me well for a long time. Maybe i will never have an issue or Later down the road if it doesn't cut it for what I'm doing. I will go with something beefier l together. And that's if the housing I have now is too costly or just in repairable. We will see :brows:
