Where is the best place to buy tires?/ What tires..........

Postby 81BigBrett » June 6th, 2013, 1:33 pm

The reason that I ask is I'm currently looking for a set a BFG KM2's in size 32/11.5/15. The cheapest place that I have been able to find these at is America's Tire. They sell there for $198.00 each. My out the door price is $254.18 per tire with a warranty. Un-fortunately at this price I can only buy 1 tire at a time.

So I'm wondering where everybody else gets there tires. Is there a company or store that has better prices than others? Another question is what tires would you guys/gals run on your rig if it's not a DD?

I've been keeping an eye out on CL, but I would prefer to buy new. I have a set of brand new 31/10.5/15 BFG all terrains that belong on the jeep but I took them off and am running them on my explorer for the time being, or until I can find a decent set of used ones for the DD.

Four wheel parts were priced at $233.00 per tire before tax and installation. I probably won't buy tires from them. I will be getting my rims from them though. Good ol' cheap steel ones. :Thumb:

u can always call 4 wheel parts and ask if a customer left there tires and they usually will sell them to u ause most cases people go bigger on tires and dont take there others with them so 4wheel parts will sell them.

And for cost yes they were around 223 but they give us a awesome deal as infectious ...:)

I agree with this. I have never heard of a tire warranty like the one the have. I travel for work too so if I have any issues I like the fact that there will most likely be a store nearby to go through.

Well that would be nice but the biggest I can go on tire size right now are 33's. I had 33's on it when I got it and it doesn't really like them with stock 4.10's and a 4 banger. I think I can get away with a 32 for now.

Those are nice, but The rims are too nice and the problem with going into the rocks. I have similar rims now and have a few chingers from the rocks. But I might see if they still have them.

Your expectations for the rims are way too high.... you'll be wheeling with IOR now and this is what you can expect after a few trips..... well, the rims. :)

Hahaha yeah that's my point, why spend $ 400 on a nice shiny rim that I'm just going to demolish on the first outing when I can spend $200 on some cheap o steelies.

They are still available! :) And as far as concerns for rock rash, there's always the "chicks dig scars!" idea. Or you could rattle can them to keep them touched up. I run flat black wheels so that I can just rattle can them if I get rock rash. :beermug:

Well some unexpected costs came up on me. As of now I am no longer looking for tires because I don't have the funding for them anymore. Maybe in another 6 months or so.
