Havent been able to investigate much yet, it would only act up after extended run time or under load

Checked fuel pressure was ok, getting fuel cell friday, gonna reroute some of the fuel lines and also check the return line for a restriction

Im thinking its either an issue with too much return restriction or heat soak on the return saw it was too close to intake manifold.

Are your feed and return lines the same diameter? You used 3/8" right?

Is it stuck in open or closed loop? Bad O2 sensor, TPS, coolant temp sensor, or bad Map sensor or vacuum to it? A bad O2 or coolant temp sensor will cause it to run in open loop I believe.

Fuel filter plugged or wrong micron rating (Carb, TBI, and FI need different filters)?

Bad pressure regulator?

All great questions...

Fuelines 3/8 on feed/ return
Oem chevy tbi, using s10 filter
Pressure steady at 12psi for 5 minutes running

Only acts up after 20 or more minutes run time

Just got fuel cell today, gonna finish redoing shock mounts, mount fuel cell, inspect lines, and put 40"s on, then run it, probably tuesday before i can run it hard again

I was going to het the maddogs from pitbull, but lucky me they arent in production currently, so i got the slightly pricier Macxis Creepy Crawlers

Omg these tires are huge, the tread and sidewall make the iroks i had look like trailer tires...

Now to get my butt to work fixing rig and mounting beadlocks the right way to test them out

Started the diet today

Old rear seats were 75lbs for the pair, came from a minivan

Today picked up suzuki seats that weigh 48lbs for the pair....

After these are in gonna redo the tube fenders and skin with aluminum to drop some more weight.

Hope to loose 200-300lbs overall, without a lot of sacrifices

Got some more accomplished today.

When we were at jy picked up another taurus fan, old one was burning up and melting fuses

Also picked up a complete tbi from a clean s10

Fan issue was an easy fix, nore more overheats or overloads on circuit.

Runability and fuel issues persist.... took apart old tbi found lots of junk in it, took apart jy tbi, very clean

Installed tbi, test ran it for about an hour it started stalling again, swapped in spare coil did it again

After coil swap hooked up fuel psi gauge, maintaned 12 at idle when stall testing right about when rear tires would brake loose fuel psi dropped to 0-4 everytime and engine will nearly die.

Tomorrow going to put in spare fuel pump and filter and try again.

Gotta get it reliable for swamp lake

Matt, the fact that it runs great until its the engine gets hot still leads me to believe that your Jeep is either not making the open/closed loop transition, or your coolant temp sensor is bad causing the ECM to lean out the fuel when the engine gets hot. If the new fuel pump doesn't work, I would change the CTS (only a $15 part) and/or check for a leaking/bad MAP sensor. Have you checked the vacuum? MAP sensors like the perfect amount.

Also, I have seen people mix up 1-wire O2 sensors with 3-wire O2 sensors during engine swaps (or mount 1-wire sensors in the wrong place, too far away from the manifold). This would also cause your problem. I have had 6 GM TBI vehicles and 90% of the issues were always sensor related, the other 10% was the ignition control modules in the distributors, which ironically, also cause the engine to run like crap when it warms up!

:wings:

Lost another 30lbs today...

Took off a bunch of small oem brackets, door hinges, windshield drop loops, and half of the highlift brackets,

Hood is clean now, moved highlift to rear of cage with cut down brackets welded to cage.

Big weight loss today was the tailgate

With fuel cell where it is have no need for it

So replaced it with 1/8" aluminum doubled in center for rotopax mount.

So far dropped 55lbs looking to drop another hundred off the front...

Lighter it gets the less strain/force it will take to move

Changed front bump stops this week. Old ones were crappy 2" rubbers from astrovan, when the front would bottom would hit hard.

New are prothane coil inserts, 10" poly urethane with hollow centers.

Cut the old bumpstop holders doen and put in coil inserts.

Test drove it through neighborhood dips, did a lot better. Old bumps would hit hard and slam, new hit firm but quite a bit better.

Wanted to put air bumps up front but no room unless i changed to coilovers or airshocks up front.

Pics coming.
