My axles(boatanchors) are too much for 35's, there is currently only two ringers in mod class the savvy/currie rig and jesse haines.
The way legends is turning out there can have last years king running it.
Plus i dont want to be running winch all day long during koh like i would be on 35" tires
Rig is built around 37-40" tire
To run stock class i would build a ttb ranger or explorer to have a bigger advantage in highspeed stuff since in rocks winch would be used a lot
To win you need some motor, to do well you need to be reliable. Wayne Hartwig in a heavy overly built modified Comanche is in 2nd place in mod class for the season. I can and have passed him easily on the short courses. There are some buggies showing up in mod class, but most of the entries are still Jeeps. You'll have fun. And after a race or two you'll be looking for a motor.
Stock class is going to be super competitive next year. Some really good cars have shown up for a single race, once everyone gets the bugs worked out there will be very tight competition.
BTW, you can be pretty fast with coilovers and not bypasses. Some unlimited cars have been very competitive without bypasses on both ends. The key is tuning. Your best bet for tuning will be to make an appointment with Wayne Isrealsen when he's having a tuning day and pay him the 300 bucks. And play a little with spring rates before then.
Are you only interested in KOH, or will you run more of the series? We're kind of lucky living where we do because the Sacramento race and Glen Helen are pretty close. Cage looks great, BTW.
