alarm

Postby josh solo » December 3rd, 2013, 6:29 pm

i need an alarm for my jeep. problem is i can't find one that just hooks up to the battery and alarms when the jeep gets bumped. its a jeep i don't need the engine to start and the radio to switch to smooth jazz. i don't need it to lock the doors that are sitting in the garage. i just need it to alarm when a crack head reaches in steal what ever he thinks is in my jeep.

Class 7 flash bang taped to the frame rail and some 100# fishing line tied to the door.

EBay. Look for motorcycle alarm. They have one just like the one you want.

Every single alarm system comes basic with a "shock sensor"... You add the red like door switches trunk pop remote start etc.

Your best decision would be to go see Rudy down at advance mobile security on buck Owens blvd, he will set you up with whatever you want.

Do you want something that makes noise or something that might actually keep the jeep from getting taken?

For a noise system, go see Rudy.

Yea..if you know what you're doing you can build it yourself for less than $50, but for a quick install you're better off to just pay for it. It doesn't have a siren or make noise, but it makes it damn tough for someone to drive off with your rig without tripping the hidden magnetic switch. It sucks though as it only works on 97-06 TJ or LJ. I have no clue if it could be made to work on any model XJ or JK.

With your nifty $50 device it would be even more simple to cut a single wire from your ignition and run a toggle switch in line with it, before you walk away flip the switch... Really with my switch idea your possibilities are endless. You could hook it up to your fuel pump, distributor, ignition, battery, it would be your cheapest route and as long as your the only one who knows where the switch is, it would be pretty efficient...

Lots of guys do just that. I found this thing several years ago. It shuts down EVERYTHING until you trip the hidden reed switch with a magnet..no fuel pump, ECM, ignition..nothing. Also..it meshes with the factory wiring so well that its basically invisible. I'd bet a beer that you couldn't find it or the reed switch..

ya i don't think the jeep will get stolen. its just for when i park it with trail gear or tools in the back. see i live in a place called "the dale" and we have these "crack heads'' there like the tooth fairy they come in the wee hours of the night but instead of leaving money under you pillow they steal tools, usb cables, stuff like that. but i will go down to advance mobile security and see rudy. thanks :salute:
