Me thinks you'll have some issues on 37s.... but doable if you don't mind a lot of strap and body damage.

Cars on 40s required a ton of strap as did the one on 42s.

Definitely in, as long as you know where to find the trails.

On the trails I went on out there, you would have to drag winchline all day on 37s. Come to think of it, 40s really weren't big enough

there are many trails, some are bound to be crawl-able.
between you and desert dog we ought to be able to find some fun, something besides just labor. :moon:

now i'm quoting you from your URF run report
"the amount of breakage ruined everyone's day" :owned:

i'd rather be rock crawling, then rock winching :thefinger:
i do love a challenge, but,, by the time we got off of S.O.S that night,
EVERYONE WAS GRUMPY!! imagine winch line after winch line

peace out

You'll just have to pick better lines than Cliff, Wayne, Richard, Robert, and myself. :dontknow:

Richard pointed me in the general direction of at least ten other trails.... while I am not exactly sure where they are, we should be able to locate them pretty easily I believe.

The winching wasn't so bad on SOS, it was that crazy break on the old race car.

Yep, I didn't think SOS was that bad either. I only remember getting owned by one obstacle on that trail, but everyone got owned by it. Like brad said, it was that ex-KOH car that broke and our insistence on towing it out that caused the frustration (it was like a bunch of experienced off-roaders all of the sudden went full-retard that night).

From what I understand, there are some milder trails in Ridgecrest for rigs on 35-37s, Like Snakebait, but I have no idea where those trails are. The half dozen or so trails I have been on out there were about the same or harder than SOS. I have no idea how to find the trails out there that I did run. We really need to explore that area more.

i was sick that day,,, maybe it just SUCKED more for me.

my point wasn't: "it was hard winching"
my point was: when someone gets fucked up,(which it sounds like
everyone did) we spend hours in one spot.
i know this can happen anywhere, and that's why we have min. requirements.
i hate to bring up that i'm a poor boy with an expensive habit all of the time,
but when you talk about your last run out there, that trail didn't sound exciting,
it sounded expensive :owned: (you said it yourself)

i'm all up for exploring the area more :yup:

Roger, you're trying to be a 1%er on a budget.... tough to pull off, but you do it gracefully. It's an expensive sport and we wheel with a few guys that can just keep throwing money at it no matter. So my suggestion.... start robbing banks in the evenings to bolster your bank account and these issues of funds will be a thing of the past.... maybe because you are successful or maybe because you landed your happy ass in jail. Either way... you'll not have to worry about being broke down.

As someone once said.... sometimes your the bug, sometimes your the windshield. It sucks bad enough when you're the bug, but on that day when everyone is the bug, it really sucks!!

Not about money. On that SOS run, a $100,000 KOH rig literally fell apart on the trail. Your Toyota took harder lines and didn't break. My budget buggy built with junkyard components that are older than your Toyota parts didn't break either. We both run the cheapest big tires money can buy, yet hang with the guys running Maxxis and BFG. And Josh's little Sammy has less into it than both of our rigs and he can do anything!

Breaking is part of wheeling, regardless of what trail you are on. I have seen you break an axle shaft on a dirt road, yet go through SOS with no issues. I have done maybe $1,000 worth of damage in Johnson Valley, but probably $10,000 in damage at Gorman. BC109 is probably Brad's most expensive trail. Point is, you can break on anything and the easy trails where we are looking to do stupid things to make the run more interesting are where 80% of the damage occurs :lol3:

You stay off the skinny pedal and carefully pick your lines, so I think you will be fine in Ridgecrest :Thumb:

The time before in Ridgecrest an utra4 buggy lost a driveline on a ledge that just about everyone winch .. Which was at the bottom of a canyon. .. And we winch him at the way to the top ,then I towed him across the mountain top ...

I should be in on this .. Now that fix a few things !!
