I went on the 55th anniversary Jeepers Jamboree. It was packed to say the least (they let twice as many people on the trail as normal), but it was still a great time! Lots of neat vehicles, awesome food, cool drawings, and lots of cool people to meet and talk too. :camping: Having the support there was a big help as well. One of the Jeeps in our group lost there high pressure steering line and had to have a new one helicoptered in, another messed up his drag link and had to have it reinforced and I destroyed my driver side front axle. There was no shortage of people to help out with repairs or just hang out and BS while we were wrenching. The party after the sun went down was a blast as well!!! :drunkbuds:

I really liked the Jamboree IMHO. I think it would be even better on a year thats not as busy like that year.

During Jambo weekends, the trail is closed during daylight hours to just event traffic.
We have never done a Jambo, but might one of these years.

I have not done the complete Rubicon trail yet. I have been through about 1/3 of it from each end over the years while doing work weekends on the trail.

Check Pirate4x4.com for other big events on the trail also. Under the Land Use section and the Rubicon area, there is a thread for Rubicon events.

Other groups sometimes have big events and it could be best to avoid them too.

We are up for a full Rubicon or Dusy run this next year Al.

Im down for a Rubicon run. I cant wait to try it in my JK. Problem is; I need to schedule time off within the next couple weeks in order to go.

I havent been on it in 12 years. I heard that the Forest Service tore down gatekeeper, is that true?
