I've got a budy of mine that wants to put some adjustable control arms on the back of his jk rubi. He had his rear drive line go out on him recently and bought a woody's drive line. After putting it in he noticed a little bit of knocking. So he talked to a few folks down at 4WP and they suggested that he turn his rear pumpkin up a little with some adjustable control arms....

So my question is is there anything we need to know about doing this mod? It seems that we just need to make sure that they are both the same on either side... any help would be appreciated.

He just needs to get the right pinion angle. The amount of lift and size will be very helpful.

If your only doing two arms do the uppers in the rear it will give you more adjustability than lowers. If he decides to do fronts he should do the lowers for the most adjustability.

I would recommend you to replace the arm suspension.It will be best option according to me.Because I recently replaced [url=http://armstrongdistributors.com/bmw.html]BMW Control Arm & Suspension Bushings[/url] instead of replacing upper and lower arm control.I replace complete arm suspension.I would recommend you the same.

My woody drive shaft did the same knocking noise before I learned about the pinion angle adjustment. May check the driveshaft and see if the center CV bearing is still good. Mine was toasted, but I was driving on it for a while. I had to have a new end welded on it was sooo bad.

Like everyone is saying, get adjustable uppers for the rear. How I did the install is just disconnect both uppers and put a jack under the end of the pumpkin. Just jack it up untell the pinion points at the transfer case. Just adjust the CA so the bolt will go through for one side. The other side can be a little tricky, what I did was count how many turns I went for the first side and went the same amount on the second side. My axle moved a little bit and I remember I had to get a bar to get the CA to mate up with the bracket.

The axle will move sideways a little bit from where it was because of the trackbar, so it is best to do an allignment afterwards. Mine hardly changed at all and I dont even think I ever alligned it again. :drinks:
