Tie rod upgrade

Postby rntaylor87 » March 27th, 2014, 11:23 am

Other than my 4.5 with 32's I'm stock. Should I be concerned about destroying my stock tie rod in Gorman? If so I'm trying to figure out the quickest and cheapest option to prepare for the run. I've been thinking about pulling one out of a zj.

No, You will be fine. Gorman is easy! You can make it hard if you want though. I know nothing about Jeeps, But with 32s, I would think you will be fine!

My tie rod always gets bent at gorman, but if you dont hit it against a rock you will be fine. I like poly performance tie rods, they are adjustable without having to remove them so its not hard to lengthen it before you make the trip home. The trails are all pretty easy, its the obsticle course that will destroy everything. :banghead:

I have the curry setup on mine and beat the hell out of it and it is still straight.

I like it except when you have to replace the ball joint on the drag link. You have to replace half of the unit.
