I could potentially make it up this Saturday if you can pull a meeting together by then. I talked to Mike today about maybe going on a run but he said his air lockers are leaking... again.

I'm staying in Auburn Wednesday night. My wife's cousin lives there and she has a place to park my tow rig and trailer beside her house. You guys might want to look into Robb's Resort. I think they are letting people park there for a nominal fee. I checked all the storage places in Auburn but none of them were very accomodating.

I'll give you call tomorrow, but if I have a brain fart and forget, you can reach me at 714-815-4384.

GJ, any chance you'll have a sticker for me? I just want to fit in!

Black stickers please! Thanks GJ. By the way, I saw Todd a few weeks ago at the 4Wheel Parts down here. He said you were working in the oilfields and he seemed a bit puzzled by that. I reminded him that it is after all, Bakersfield, and everone up there has to work in the oilfileds at some point.

So did you all get together last night? Any news to share?

Where to park your tow rig

Postby jeeplj » June 21st, 2007, 7:56 am

I have a connection in Auburn that I might be able to extend to the rest of you who plan to tow your rigs up. My wife's cousin has room for my tow rig but that's it. But she has a friend who has a few acres up there and he had already offered to take my tow rig if it turns out to be in the way at Kara's house. I e-mailed Kara the other day after talking to Brian and asked her if she thought her friend might want to open a "Rubicon Tow Rig Lot" on his property for that weekend. She said she would ask him and let me know.

As you guys have I'm sure figured out, parking at the end of the trail would be a hassle on Wednesday. It would probably add 3-4 hours to your trip. Auburn, in my opinion, would be the best bet since you're going to drive right back through there on the way home anyway. But Placerville might also be a good option.
