No the TrailBlazers don't control that. We adopt the trail to maintain it.

This was a part of the Sequoia National Forest Motorized Travel Management.

Thanks for clarifying. Is there a way we can get it opened up, or are we SOL?

I guess a lot of the trails are actually closed for winter. Winter wheeling messes up the trails and that is why they are closed. It should be open again in the spring.

Chris from the Stewards already put together the meeting. It was last Saturday. Link:

He invited all Kern County off-road clubs to attend including Infectious. He definitely needs our help on this one.

They are also proposing fines of up to $5,000 per person and $10,000 per group and up to 6 months in jail if you are caught on a closed trail. It will be your responsibility to study the closure map and know which trails are closed

is there a closure map available and can we get that put on the site for everyone to see?

AFAIK, the proposed map is not official yet - but the proposed map has everything but one trail that leads to a popular trailhead for hikers closed for 4 months.

We have to be vigilant in not falling for the LIE put out there by the enviros that off-road vehicles destroy the roads. That is absurd. Roads are damaged by erosion = water.

If they lock up Black Gulch trail for the winter, there will be just as many ruts, mudslides, exposed rocks, and fallen trees to repair as there was when it was open. There is NO evidence that closing dirt roads for the winter reduces maint. costs. And even at that, they want to close roads that aren't even maintained by the Forest Service, but rather by off-road clubs for off-road use! Without groups like the Trailblazers performing erosion control, debris clearing, and trash pick-up many trails would not be maintained at all.

This is a control issue, perpetrated by self-hating enviro-nazis that want to remove any heterosexual enjoyment from your life.
