That guy is almost as bad as the jeepers jamboree spotters. She was trying to take the right line, but the guy insisted she go into the hill side.

Its always the easy obstacles that get you, right Jeremy?
She would have been OK if she wore her seatbelt, right Jeremy?

The surprising thing was how little damage was done to the Jeep. Man those TJs are tough!

I think she got hurt at the end when she got air born. The roll did not look that violent.

That's one reason we don't spot. The other is so people can learn how to drive. When I spot, I show the driver the line and then get out of the way. I also learned not to take a spot (when one is asked for) from anyone I don't know and trust. I wince when I see someone spotting and they walk away after the front tires get over or through an obstacle.......the whole thing about picking a line is positioning the rear tires.

Bummer about her getting hurt, it was unnecessary. Unreliable spotting and no seatbelt........they should have known better.

Saw this over on another forum.
A roll-over that did not have to happen.
The spotter had no clue.
He was not using standard hand signals, and it looks like he had no idea of the abilities of the jeep and driver.

It also looks like the driver was not in low range, 1st gear.

The group should have held a quick safety briefing prior to anyone going down the hill, especially with new drivers in the group.
Not being there, not sure if they did the above.
We sometime get complacent in the above as we all gain more confidence in our own abilities.
We forget about the new person in the new jeep out with us for their first time.

Lessons for all in a roll-over like this.
Glad that she is alright though.

I think part of the problem is we go out and make this stuff look easy because we know what we are doing (well most of us anyway.....Jeremy ) and unexperienced people go out thinking because they saw it on YouTube and they have a Jeep, can go out and play with no idea what they are doing.

Everybody here does a great job making sure that everybody is safe and comes home!

This video made me think about a couple things. We are doing a high risk activity in remote areas.....how many of us are First Aid and CPR trained? The Trailblazers had a great idea and worked out a deal to get anybody in there group that wanted to be trained in First Aid and CPR. We should follow there good example and do the same. As an ex-EMT I know how important it is to get treatment as quickly as possible, but thats not as important as knowing what not to do to someone in a situation like that video. I was reading the posts after the video and one guy was saying they shouldn't have airlifted her out she should have been fine......the problem is if she had spinal or neck injures just moving her out of the Jeep could have caused major injures! To me that is worth the cost of being airlifted.

I agree, this is probably the best group of guys to go wheeling with, if something was to happen I feel that a few of the guys would freak out, but there are guys here that would react without thinking, just out of instinct to help another person, I have had som first aid training and CPR training in the Army, It would be cool to get a refresher, they were smart in the video to leave her in the jeep till the right people came to help her, looks like they tried to keep her calm, that was another good thing.

If anyone knows how or where we can aet up some training, post it!!!!!

My hubby (awsm fj ) is First Aid and CPR trained, his job require's it every 2 yrs. OH and his doctor call's him RAMBO . I won't go into that
