As we start to get larger and have more and more families browsing our form I believe that we have a responsibility to keep this form cleanish.

In the past I have ignored foul language used in the forum. As you know I always ask for everyones opinion when making changes to the forum. So here I am asking what you guys think. What should be allowed and not allowed?

I want to keep this form as open as possible to different people, vehicles and opinions...... I just feel that it can be done with out vulgar language.

I'm for free speech. I'm not thin skinned or easily offended. I hunt, fish, wheel and wrench; so I am pretty used to the lingo and not bothered. I also watch my language around my kids as an example to them, but am careful to keep them from trying to lecture others about their language. I guess its just the Libertarian in me .

Having stated my personal opinion, if you guys want to sensor / outright ban foul language, its your call and I will play by the rules. Just don't go as far as making some kind of rules of conduct for the trail or go crazy with the "ban Hammer" on the forum - thats where I draw the line.

I'm with that foul mouthed, anti Obama, gun toting, homophobe above.... not that I agree with all of his vices, but on his free speech, libertarian views; therefore, my vote is a no. BUT.... can't you put a word filter on the BB that will just star out the really ******* bad words?

I am not planning on banning anyone! I was thinking about just using the word filter like Abendx said. I just wanted to get everyones opinion before I did it. I don't mind either way.

This only applies to the forum. On the trail the only rules are to help one another out and no one gets left behind.

I'm all for free speech, I have no problem with cuss words. It's my job as a parent to make sure my kids understand that some words are for adults not kids. I'm not one of those people that pretend my kids don't hear or say them at school or around their Friends.
