June 10th Meat and Greet

Postby castor07jk » June 2nd, 2010, 8:59 pm

After talking with a few members, we all liked Lengthwise more than Chuy's. Plenty of room, good food, great beer and quieter.

But keeping in tradition we will have a poll. :Thumb:

I liked Lengthwise better than Chuy's. We need group parking though so we can line up our rigs like we do at Chuy's. Maybe park across the street in the Supercart lot?

My girls like chuy's better & that's good enough for me, there is more for them to do there.
I think I spent 98.273% of my time outside of lengthwise so to be honest it was like having the meet & greet in a parking lot.
Plus we have a bigger turnouts at chuy's, especially when you consider 4 or 5 rigs came from fulltraction. Would they all show up @ chuy's :dontknow:

chuy's has the outside sitting area right by the parking lot & they should have their misting system running by now.

My write in vote is for chuy's.

CHUYS , all someone has to do is ask them and they will rope off area like they do for bikers.
Especially if you tell them its a monthly thing

You actualy have to leave the parking lot and go inside just like at chuys. :thefinger: So you spending all your time out in the parking lot had nothing to do with the location. As far as roping off an area for us, i was going to talk with the manager about the paking on the back side. We all parked together last month. :dontknow:

I think some of you guys are forgetting why we decided to have the meet & greets at chuy's.

The reason legnthwise isn't a good location for our meet & greets is that it's kinda hidden from the traffic of a busy street.
At chuy's we can display our banner right there on rosedale highway for all to see. Gives us alot better chance to pick up new members as they drive by and see the rigs and the banner.
Plus I really like their chicken & my girls like the chips & salsa.
With all the new members we should see 30+ rigs at the meet & greets real soon.
And who knows maybe chuy's will start a infectious off road night, with t-shirts & advertising. :Thumb:

Ok, here is my two cents. Originally the majority wanted Chuy's, but we have moved the Meet & Greet to other locations (4 Wheel Parts, Moo Creamery) in the past. I can understand those who live further away from Chuy's than others and would like a shorter drive.
So here is a compromise, we can move the Meet & Greet to other locations around town if the MAJORITY agrees and it cannot be in the same location twice in a row.
How does that sound?

Im new here so please dont chew me out. I honestly think that as far as visibility by far Chuys is the perfect location, I mean its Rosedale highway with a huge banner and all the rigs striking the parking lot pose it just cant be beat. :Thumb:

Lengthwise is an awesome place to hang out and there beer is awesome but it is hidden and there is very lil traffic to where i see mainly the people that are going there actually driving around there.

My .02 would be chuys not becouse theyre food is great but just plain visibility. :drinks:

Im down to go where ever.

HOOTERS is closer to the 99, so it would be more cetralized and easier to get to, don't wings sound good, not to mention they are new to Bakersfield and probably could use a great big Infectious welcome!!!

I'll show you my hooters if you guys want to do the meet and greet over by my house.

On the end of the street is a beach parking lot that has lots of room to park lots of rigs out on an area that is surrounded by the sea on three sides, have a huge BBQ on the beach, and a jetty that we can all climb over with our rigs. The beach is dog, beer, and child friendly. PLUS.... the BIG ass rocks to climb all over.

Plus GJ lives about a mile away and I am sure he'd agree this is a good location as he can crawl back home if need be. :thefinger:

Ok, i changed the pole. But it seems to be having an issue.

We will do what the group wants.

My 2 cents

Chuy's is OVER PLAYED. Food is only so so and it's loud.

We are gaining more members from exposure on the trail and online than any Meet and Greet that we have had.

My vote is obviously Lengthwise

:lol3:  :bleh:  :lol3: Curt. Here is your post on the original poll.

I say we go with the same place each month.

Chuy's has great parking and exposure.

The biggest turn outs have been at Chuy's.

Food is pretty good and a good selection of beer.

I still say chuy's :thefinger:

Exposure
good food
better place for the family than legnthwise
free refills on the sodas
free chips & salsa
people that don't visit the forum know we have it at chuy's

chuy's by far is the best location for the meet & greets, better than any other place that we have had (the 4 wheel parts ones were great too) I should know, I've been to all of them :thefinger:
