you looking for acceleration or torque? I added a jet performance chip to my 4.0 and noticed a bug difference. I am not sure if the offer a performance chip for the 1990 2.5. Gearing is a big way to multiply power. What size tires are you running?

There are no chips for the 90 2.5L. The only thing you can do for the older 4 bangers is help them breath better. Cold Air intake helps a bit. A Borla shorty header will give you a little more umph (and is CARB approved), coupled with a good exhaust and hi-flow cat. Those 2.5s run forever, but will lack power no matter what you do.

Edit: If you decide to get a California legal header, stay away from the Pace-setter brand. They are junk.
