simple green

Postby casaintsfan » July 26th, 2010, 1:44 pm

i've heard people using simple green to get their engines clean so i thought i would try it out.
now i've sprayed my engine after some dirty runs before but it never really looked clean.
i just happen to have a big jug of simple green sitting in the garage and a empty windex bottle.
i filled the bottle with 100% simple green, after taking the jeep aka Black Beauty (named by smack2020) for a short drive to get the engine temp up just a little i popped the hood and shoved some plastic i had laying around into the hole in the air cleaner box. sprayed the entire engine with the water hose to get all the loose stuff off and then sprayed it with the simple green. i let it sit for a little bit and took some blue shop towels and wiped the hoses and some of the other stuff in the engine compartment. took the water hose and sprayed all the simple green off and WOW!!! looked like a brand new engine again. checked it again the next morning and yes it looked awsome. i even sprayed simple green on the insulation on the under side of the hood and that came clean too :wings:

i highly recomend simple green to get your engine clean, it's safe & 100% biodegradable (maybe not the stuff coming off your engine)

it works :Thumb:

Told you it works.

I also put a plastic bag over the alternator, battery, and fuse box. I put a 1 gal zip-lock baggie over the air intake and seal it with a rubber band. Ive tried the aerosol cans of engine cleaner, and nothing works as good as simple green.
