This is where to post runs that are going to happen!

Big Bear -- August 21/22

Postby abendx » August 13th, 2010, 5:28 pm

Let's do Big Bear on the weekend of August 21st. This will be a sleepover while it is still really nice up there (daytime highs in the low 80s, nighttime lows in the mid 50s).

One day we can run Upper Big Bear (Mottino, Gold Mountain, and John Bull), the next day we can run it down into the Arrowhead area (Dishpan, Pilot Rock, 3N17x).

I am pretty sure we can dry camp anywhere in the forest, so finding a spot at one of the campgrounds isn't necessary. I will have to look into whether or not we can build camp fires outside of the official camp sites.

Who's in?

7.
8.
9.

Minimum rig suggestions (vehicle damage is very likely with stated minimums):
1. Lockers on both ends and 35s for Mottino.
2. At least one locker and 31s for John Bull and Dishpan.
3. At least a limited slip and 31s for all other trails we will hit.

Meetup at Camping World at 0930.

Since we live in Bakersfield, I'd rather go to the Shaver Lake area and run Red Lake/Coyote Lake, Mirror Lake, and Bald Mt. So much prettier than Big Bear, and a little closer. But, that's just my humble opinion. I should be quiet, since I can't go anyway.

Have you ran Motttino yet Brad? I heard that trail has some gnarly optional lines. I really want to run that.

Unfortunately, Im going to be playing in the dunes at Pismo this weekend
