Last year they broke up a Mexican theft ring that stole almost 400 Jeeps from California, Arizona, and Nevada. They almost exclusively targeted "built" Jeeps.
Last month, the Long Beach police broke up a theft ring that had stolen 350 Jeep Rubicons from SoCal, mostly for parts:

They don't seem to be stealing JKs yet due to the chipped key, but it probably won't be long before they start doing that too. You live a few blocks away from me Larry, so I'm sure its just a matter of time before they ransack my Jeeps too. I'm definitely looking at alarms now.
