If you are a landlord and carry large amounts of money is usually a good way to get it approved. Business owners probeably have an easy time getting it.

I have one also. Easy to get. Check out www.calccw.com. lots of info there. If you have questions, call me. Jeff Carpenter 809-2028

If I'm not drinking, I have a Glock 45 on one hip and an extra mag or 2 on the other hip.

For a holster check out www.ttgunleather.com. best holsters out there. I use a IWB "Mike's Special"
Very comfy!!!

Well here's my case. I live on Alta Vista across from Manny's Tam o Shanter. On my side of the street it is pretty nice. But if you walk to the other side, the side manny's is on, you better becareful.

If getting a CCW is so hard these days, what about caring an unloaded firearm holstered in plane view. I have heard from a Guy at 2nd ammedment that it is Legal to carry in plain view, as long as it is unloaded. But if anyone feels you are a threat be ready to go to jail.

Can I get some oppions on this.

Thanks for all of your helps guys...

If you oen carry, Be prepaired to have the cops around you. I would much rather have a firearm that is concealed and loaded. For your senario, they wouldnt give you a permit. You have to have a "good Cause" You cant say " its my 2 ammendment right, I want to protect myself and family" You need to say like "I carry large sums of cash, I work alone at night or something like that" Thats what I said, carry cash, make deposits at night after hours. After you create a Good Cause, the rest is easy! It took me about 7 months from start to finnish.

well I cant really prove that I carry large sums of cash. I do work extremely early in the morning and I live in a bad side of town. So maybe something like, "In the mornings I get up and there isn't in body else out and i drive through unsafe parts of town." Maybe kinda sort of... I do have a friend who is a business owner I can say that there are times when I do despoit pickups for him in the mornings. and those are usually around 10k in cash, plus cc reciepts and checks.. He would defend me if they ask him...

Ok guys... I'm gonna open up this book of worms again... I've looked and looked and fired and plated with the idea of which firearm to get. I am now set on a Glock 23... Fits in the hand perfect, fires great, and overall I here good things about it... I am thinking of hooking up with Power's Security Training for my handgun safety course and CCW classes and what not.

2 things:

Good place to but the gun

Anyone know anything about Power's Security Training... (I was refered to them from the guys over at Ol Boys on Rosedale.)

I own the Glock 23. Its a spectacular gun!! The only problem is if you plan to carry it concealed It may be a little large to carry, I would look into the G27 Its the subcompact.

I carry a Glock 38. Its a .45 in a .9mm frame. Its a compact. 9+1 and an extra mag on the other hip. So that makes 19 total. Bring it scumbags, Im ready, willing, and able!! When seconds count, cops are minutes away! Check out ttgunleather.com. Best holsters made!

i was going back and forth between a 27 and a 23.. I looked and held the 27 with the extra round and liked it. but then I picked up the 23 and was amazed at how stable the gun felt. I went and fired the 22, 27, and 23 and all we great guns. But, felt that the 23 was the best for me... I am a bigger guy so i figure if I do carry concealed then I should be fine...

But what about Power's Security Training??? Anyone know anything about them???

I carry a G23 most of the time, except for sometimes in the summer I carry A G27. I carry appendix IWB and the G19/G23 size pistols are perfect for CCW IMO; small enough to effectively conceal, yet large enough for a good combat grip, fast presentation, and recoil management. Great choice in the G23; cheap, easily obtained, effective ammo in the most reliable package money can buy. Get a good, fast Kydex IWB holster with a FIRM belt loop (no hooks or snap loops). Avoid leather holsters for CCW, you'll understand why after you train with one.

Powers Training is the best game in town for county approved CCW training, no gun snobbery or politics with these guys. Just stay away from 2nd Amendment Sports training; they have gotten really bad since Don Busse left years ago (and was even pretty average back then). Whatever you choose, forget what you learned in the "county CCW" class and go get some "real" training (preferably with a school that does force-on-force).

Cant go wrong with the G23 or G27 - so get em both :lol3:
