Hi Everyone

Postby Samurai » November 28th, 2010, 8:10 am

Heard about this site from bumping into someone at the local auto part store. I have been 4 wheeling for the past 4 years in a yamaha rhino, now that I traded it for a nice Zuki I am wanting to hit the trails. Havent been to anything places other than Red Rock, Pismo and Dumont. Really want to hit some nice trails that will put my machine to work but dont really want to damage it up as its my baby. I have a 91 Samurai with a 1.6 16v FI engine, rhino lined, disc brakes, lockers, Rock Block, 5.1 transfercase, 33 tires and so on... Got too much to list. Would like to hit some beginner rock climbing trails soon but now that rainy season is here its kind of dangerous to me but would like to hear what all you think would be a great place to start. I recently helped my son in getting a Jeep and he is now getting the bug.

Was really liking the info this group has and how each of you help each other out and dont leave anyone hanging, thats the best part about this group so far!!

I will try and attach a pic of my big red and see if it works.

Hope to get acquainted to you all :drinks:

Yeah I think we made the Desert Dog a big fan of the sami. What's not to like seeing a sami in the bed of your pickup. LOL

This club is great hope to meet you soon..

Welcome! :celebrate: Nice Sami, Can't wait to see it in action! I have a '87 Sami, Stock,. It's pretty clean except for the upholstry. It's my baby so it's very hard for me to change anything about it. I need to find me another one that i won't mind fixing up and playing with. There's so many times people ask me why i still have that little thing. I tell them, you have to own one to understand why. I got a Jeep this year, "the best of both worlds, i say" :wings: :wings: See you at the next run!

I know what you mean, I have had 4 sami's in the last three years. I am working on another at the moment, 1986 tin top with factory a/c. I sure do like the a/c in the summer that's for sure. My son picked up a nice jeep and hope he can make the trip in hungry valley, going to try and get my big red to fit in my 5th wheel and stay Friday thru Sunday. I sure hope the weather will be nice.

Yeah I have seen many jeeps on the trails there, there is a pretty steep ridge that many jeeps go down that I took my rhino down, inched it slowly and the step on the bottom was pretty scary as I felt the rear come up but made it!! It was a rush. That area has many trails as well as dove springs which is not as rocky.
