Just stay away from: a) Hand-helds, b) the Cobra 75.

Is there an issue with the cobra 75? It is what I have so that I can disconnect and lock it in the console when not in use. i know sound sucks so I got an external speaker for it. Anything else I need to know about it so can pick up something different if need be?[/quote]
Dude I have a midland 75-822 that's a handheld/hard mount and everyone says I come in crystal clear... All cb's will be a standard wattage, what it really comes down to is quality of cable and height of antenna, if your antenna is blocked mostly by the vehicle then on the people behind you will hear you better, but if your cb is above your rig you will have better range, now with that being said... Alot of the trails I go on have low slung trees to catch antennas... So I sacrificed overall distance and mounted mine lower. But I can still hear everyone great on the trail... And that's comin from a handheld hard mounted... Think I paid like $60 off amazon...
