They asked IOR if we could step up and do some trail runs and demos for the event. I think this is a fantastic opportunity for IOR to get some great exposure and free marketing.
I already told Frank that I would do free CB tuning at the event and that IOR would lead a run through Henry's Crack. But more activities need to be planned, and our plans need to be submitted to them ASAP.
Please remember, they have asked that all of our planned events/demos be very professionally done and with good safe equipment. Don't do a winch demo with a barely working winch that won't free-spool and frayed line (probably should not use steel cable around a crowd for safety reasons). Don't do a recovery demo if you don't know how to rig properly. Don't lead a run when you are not familiar with the trail. Don't do a trail-welding demo if you can't weld or set up the proper safety barriers to protect bystanders, don't lead a trail run drunk, etc.
This will be our official list of event volunteers. If you are volunteering to lead a run or put on a demo, please list the full details of what you plan to do, as they will ask me when I submit our plan to them;
Desert Dog = Free CB tuning. Will bring a couple SWR meters with all wiring adaptors. Will bring tools to tune antennas and accessories to make better power and ground connections if needed.
Whitesnake = Tire plugging demo. Will bring tire repair kit, plenty of plugs, and an old tire to do the demonstration with. Also interested in doing a recovery rigging demo (hopefully doesn't plan on driving Becka's jeep for that
)Roger = a demo on how to break a whole bunch of shit fast.
