What the holy shit is going on here? Your saying the tons wouldn't line up on the Burb? And they line up on the Heep? What do you mean spring perches? They bolt right up!!!! Also, flip the tubes? That's a shit ton of work right there!

The rear spring mounts were 2" off between the K30 and burb.

The front would have fit, but the brake lines would have had to been custom made.

The springs lined up front and rear with no mods on the YJ, so on they went. I forgot to pay my tags for the YJ in JUly (moved and didn't update my address with DMV) and it'll have to be smogged again in JULY, clearly it will not pass. So now, I guess I'll cut the exhaust off at about 10" past the collector, and put a D300 in it, or retube it to use the stock T-case.

I hadn't planned to have the YJ down this long but the JKU is still street and trailable and the burb will still run and drive fine. I think it can out wheel the JK aside from width. It definitely flexes just as well.

Come on guys, give me some ideas here. Who has a D300 laying around, I have a couple bucks, but not a millionaire yet. It'll sound wicked with no pipes and muffler.

I still don't get it. I'm drunk right now, but the rear should match. I put a 14 bolt from a military truck under my Burb and it was a simple swap. Am I missing something? Look on Pirate4X for a trade. If you can't find an axle, just do the swap you were talking about. Everything from the Burb into the Jeep.

I need to either swap in a Chevy drivetrain or get the D60 re-tubed. I dont want to cut the exhaust off on it so that it'll clear my front driveshaft. I may end up swapping to a Vortec drivetrain down the road. You can fine Vortec suburbans for sale for dirt cheap. I think i'd rather just have the D60 retubed so it can go in the JK later. Anybody know a place that can do it???

Probably Performance industries, as they do build custom 9"s for drag cars. But they will charge a lot and take forever.

I think getting a used Ford D60 with driver-side drop would be cheaper and better (because you will get a high pinion).

Got a line on a Ford HP44 and D60 from a club member, then put the tons under the burb.

So many options, none are free. Damn why wasn't I born rich instead of good looking ? Lol

Roger! Ur my flucking hero! I've got 16.5 rims out the but. Going to run them on the burb and my YJ with D60/HP44 combo. You have any spare mil surplus wrangler MT tires?

sorry,, floppy got all of my 37s

one thing about 16.5 rims > you can't air down much, they push off pretty easy.
if you want to save money on tires, consider the re-centered hummvee wheels.
they're reasonably priced, & double beadlock. i love my "trailworthy" wheels
and i'll bet, with your craigslist skills, you find even better deals
on stock wheels that we can re-center @ the tehachapi shop

oh, btw, i started playing with my tire groover on these tires to make them more
sand/mud/& snow friendly > runnem the way they are, or finish what i started

let me know

I won't be picky. I am definitely considering the hummer wheels. There is a guy in LA that does em pretty cheap and has tons of different mil surplus tires. Maybe 53's on the yj? Lol no way.

How about running 44's? These would be pretty sweet at 275 each. 44x13 on 18" rim. All hail mother Russia.

The D60 and D44 I got lined up has a Detroit out back and I'll do a lunchbox or something up front.

Alright...I ordered a Lincoln locker for the 8.8 in my YJ. The JK is getting the Detroit installed out back next Friday at 4wp. It is already paid for, no changing it. The burb is getting the 14 bolt and D60 from the old M1008. I've got all the money part done. Just need to start wrenching on them. The burb will run on 37" mil surp tires. The JK is sticking with the BFG AT's until I can find a set of Irok's for trail use.

The YJ will run 35x14.50 TSL'S that I have out back and 35x12.50 maxxis bighorns on front.

I'm going to just leave the yj as is and put my toy budget into the JK since we take that out much more often.

Got the tons on the Burb today. It is sick. I don't know why/how I made it this long without lockers. This thing is awesome. Can't wait to get the locker in the JK and D60/D44 in the YJ. Lockers in all 3, at least at one end. 37's on the YJ and Burb. Toys are pricey but man they are fun.
